
NOB- Suryapet news: SP Sunpreet Singh IPS disclosed the details of the case to the media in a media conference held at the SP office. SP said that on the morning of 14.07.2024, according to reliable information, the town PS Inspector along with his staff checked the vehicles at Shankar Vilas Center in Suryapet town, two cars were coming suspiciously, and when they stopped and checked the cars, they found Gutka, Khaini, which were banned by the government. There were bags related to tobacco packets, along with such vehicles, went to Manju Kiranamu & Bakery shop in vegetable market and the shop was checked, gutka, khaini and tobacco bags worth 6 lakhs were found in a room arranged behind the shop. After seizing them, shop owner Mayadevara Sivasatthi, age: 31 years, occupation: business, residence: Rajiv Nagar, Suryapet town, said that some time ago he bought Gutka, Khaini and tobacco from Karnataka region and brought them to Suryapet town and kept them in his shop. Offense No. 331/2024 U/S 223 BNS (188 IPC) & Sec 24(i) of COTP Act-2003 of Suryapet II Town P.S. A case was registered accordingly. Auto Driver Yarramshetty Naveen, Age: 30 Years, Occupation: Driver r/o Bakthalapuram Village, Pen Pahad Mandal was also booked against and both were remanded. Gutka worth 11 lakhs and 2 vehicles were seized. When he said that he was running this business knowing that consumption of gutka, khaini and tobacco would make people ill, bags of gutka, khaini and tobacco from his shop were confiscated. Legal action will be taken against any traders who sell Gutka, Khaini and Tobacco which are harmful to the public. The SP appealed to the police to give information about the illegal traders.
