117 athletes from India in Paris Olympics

NOB_ Paris Olympics starts IST 11 PM

NOB-Paris news: It’s time for the World Games. The Summer Olympics, which are held every four years, have come for three years this time. It is known that the Tokyo Olympics which were to be held in 2020 were held in 2021 due to Corona.Paris is hosting the World Games this time. Paris is ready for this sports event. The Olympics will officially start from27.07.2024. The sporting event will end on August 11th 2024. Medal competitions will be held in 329 events in 32 sports. 10,500 athletes from 206 countries are participating. 117 athletes from India are in the ring.

The organizers are going to organize the opening ceremony of the Olympics differently this time. Usually the celebrations are held in the stadium. But, unlike the tradition, this time the organizers will not be in the stadium but on the river Seine that flows through Paris. Arrangements for that have been completed. More than 10,000 athletes will participate in the parade on 100 boats. This parade will be held for 6 kms. The parade starts at the Austerlitz Bridge and ends at the Trocadero. The rest of the shows will take place there. The opening ceremony will be held for about three hours.The opening ceremony will begin on 27.07.2024 at 11 PM IST. 117 athletes will represent India in the Paris Olympics. They are in the ring in 16 sports. A maximum of 29 people compete in athletics. After that 21 people are participating in the shooting. A maximum of 121 athletes participated in the Tokyo Olympics. This time the women’s hockey team did not qualify for the Olympics.

Sindhu and Sarath Kamal as flag bearers

Telugu star shuttler PV Sindhu and senior table tennis player Sarath Kamal were selected as flag bearers for India. Sindhu and Sarath Kamal will lead the Indian team in the opening ceremony. Sindhu and Sharat will walk in front of the tricolor flag. Sindhu was happy to receive this honour. She said that she is very proud to be the national flag bearer at the Olympics once in a while. This will be Sarath’s 5th Olympics while Sindhu will participate for the third time in a row.

8 people from Telugu states

8 athletes from Telugu states are participating in these world games. Nikhat Zareen (Boxing), Isha Singh (Shooting), Akula Sreeja (Table Tennis) and PV Sindhu (Badminton) are in the ring from Telangana. Dheeraj Bommadevara (Archery), Jyoti Yarraji (Athletics), Jyothika Sri (Athletics) and Satviksairaj Rankireddy (Badminton) are participating from Andhra Pradesh. Medal hopes are high on Nikhat Zareen, Sindhu and Satvik.
