The Warangal Task Force police have caught a gang that was embezzling government money by making labor insurance claims with fake documents. With the help of the Assistant Labor Officer, two accused were arrested after finding that they had paid about Rs.18.70 lakhs. Five people including ALO are absconding. Warangal CP Dr. Tarun Joshi revealed the details of the arrest in the commissionerate office on 04.11.2022. Telangana Construction Labor Welfare Board is implementing various schemes for workers. ALO Mohammad Ali of Narsampet planned to make insurance claims with fake documents as he was receiving a large amount of financial assistance. Rapaka Weerabhadra Swamy of Nekkonda, Parsha Ravi of Chennaraopet, Lavudya Narsimha of Amin Peta of Nekkonda mandal, Upasarpanchi Chandu of Redlavada, Lavudya Puliya of Vagyanayakthanda and Chindam Ashok of Muttojipet of Narsampet mandal were appointed as agents. He started giving labor cards to the poor in the villages with the agents (original price Rs. 110 for each card). They charged Rs. 300 to Rs. 500 from each person. Then applications were taken from the beneficiaries for general and accidental death labor insurance, maternity and marriage assistance. Parsha Ravi had a DTP center in Narsampet they used to apply from there.
Even if they are not qualified, ALO Ali approves them and sanctions them through the Nodal Officer. Recently, the task force police have put special focus on this after a series of articles on labor insurance scams appeared in the ‘Velugu’ paper. Rapaka Veerabhadraswamy and Parsha Ravi were arrested on the basis of certain information. From them 10 new applications, three CPUs, four monitors, a smart phone, rupees five thousand were seized. It was found that 23 applications were submitted from Parsha Ravi DTP Center with fake documents from 2018, out of which 9 applications were approved without any inquiry. The remaining 14 are under process. So far it has been found that Rs.18.70 lakh has been stolen.
