Minister Thalasani Srinivasyadav said that on the occasion of Mrigasira Karte, a ‘Fish Food Festival’ will be organized across the state on the 8th, 9th and 10th of June 2023. To this extent, the Minister held a high-level review with the higher officials on the management and arrangements of the Fish Food Festival. As part of the management, fish products and dishes to be available in all district centers were widely discussed. Thalasani directed the officials to identify and make arrangements for suitable areas for conducting the festival.

Steps should be taken to ensure that all kinds of dishes like fish curry, biryani made from fish and prawns will be available in the fish food festival. We have already given free training to fisherwomen of all districts on preparation of various types of dishes with fish to become self-employed. The authorities should take steps to have 20 to 30 stalls of different types of fish dishes in the festival to be held in each district center with their participation. In addition stalls with Vijaya dairy products should also be set up at every place. The minister ordered the officials to invite the ministers and other public representatives of the respective districts to start the fish food festival.

Arrangements should be made to explain the development and welfare programs implemented by the government for the welfare of fishermen. Cultural programs should be organized for 3 days to entertain the consumers attending the festival. Arrangements should be made to resemble the state festival. For this, Gopalamitra should be involved along with animal husbandry, fisheries and dairy officials. The eminent persons who have rendered special service in the fisheries sector should be recognized and honoured,” the minister ordered the officials. The Minister felicitated Pittala Ravinder, who was appointed as the Chairman of the Fishery Cooperative Society.
