NOB- NTR district news: The incident came to light on 13.12.2023 evening at Nagamayya Bazaar in Jaggayapet of NTR district. Nakkala Praveen (30), who works as a carpenter, and his mother Govarthanamma have been staying on rent in Nagamayaya Bazaar of Jaggayapet since six months. Praveen from Gauravaram village was married eight years ago, but his wife divorced him within a year because of his behaviour. In the following year, Praveen married a woman named Thirupatamma from Nandigama for the second time and started living at Dhanambodu in Jaggaiyapet.

Lohita was born to them. Four years ago, Tirupatamma died under suspicious circumstances, and the relatives filed a complaint with the police, suspecting that Praveen had killed her. The case is still ongoing. Praveen and his mother Gowardhanamma believed that Lohita was preventing him from marrying again and sent the girl to their relatives in the town for a few days. The relatives recently brought the girl and handed her over to her father. Since then Lohita was not being fed properly and was being beaten. The whole back was covered with injuries. Recently the girl was being tried to be hanged with a saree and the locals heard her screams. They informed the Zarina of the Anganwadi.

She collected the photos four days ago and informed the authorities. They came on 13.12.2023 evening and freed the girl from the hell hole. Praveen and Govardhanamma tried for a long time to tell them that they did not have the girl. They also launched a counter attack against those who came. Finally, the entire house was searched with the help of the locals and the police, and it was found that the girl was hidden under a bucket in the bathroom which was covered with clothes. Police revealed that Praveen and Govardhanamma have been taken into custody.
