Security suspended for Parliament incident

NOB-New Delhi news:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14.12.2023 held a high-level meeting with key ministers on the incident that created a sensation in the Parliament, the highest forum of the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Ministers Prahlad Joshi, Anurag Thakur, Piyush Goyal and others participated in this meeting. BJP National President JP Nadda also attended the meeting. In this meeting, several decisions were taken on the security of the Parliament. On the other hand, Lok Sabha Secretary took action on the security failure. Official sources revealed that eight security personnel who were on duty at the time were suspended.

On 14.12.2023, the opposition in both houses of the Parliament raised a protest over the incident that took place in the Lok Sabha on 13.12.2023. Opposition members insisted on a debate on the security failure when the Lok Sabha began 14.12.2023 morning. The meeting went on for some time amid their agitations. However, the opposition MPs stormed into and the Speaker avoided them. However, as they did not back down, the meeting was adjourned till noon. A similar situation prevailed in the Rajya Sabha. The Chairman adjourned the meeting to noon as the opposition insisted on a discussion on the security failure.

In the wake of the latest incident, security has been tightened in the Parliament. Restrictions have been imposed on entry into the Parliament building. Others have been banned from going through the ‘Makar Dwaram’ where MPs enter. Restrictions on the media also continue. Passes are issued to media persons after conducting pre-security checks and only those allowed to enter. Also, the shoes of everyone who came to the Parliament are being scanned on 14.12.2023. Officials have revealed that these bans will continue till the end of the current Parliament session.
