PSLV-C58 launch on calendar new year, Countdown begins

NOB- Sriharikota news: Indian Space Research Organization has started the countdown to launch PSLV-C58 on the first day of the new year 2024. The countdown process started at Satish Dhawan Space Center Shar Sriharikota at 8.10 am on 31.12.2023. The process will continue for 25 hours and at 9.10 am on 01.01.2024, the PSLV-C58 carrier will launch from the first launch pad into space. The PS4 will host 10 other payloads after it launches the EXPOSAT into orbit. PSLV will carry India’s X-ray polarimeter satellite EXPOSAT into space. EXPOSAT India is set to usher in dramatic advances in space-based X-ray astronomy. Unlike previous missions that focused primarily on imaging, time-domain studies, and spectroscopy.

EXPOSAT aims to explore X-ray sources, introducing a new dimension to X-ray astronomy. The lifetime of this satellite is five years. The final stage of PSLV will carry ten more instruments to space. It has been named PSLV Orbital Experimental Module POEM. On the other hand, ISRO scientists have visited Tirumala Venketaswara in the background of PA SLV-C58 launch. On 31.12.2023, the VIP participated in the Tirumala Venkateswara Swami’s service during the initial Viraama Darshan. PSLV-C58, EXPOSAT model images were placed at the feet of Tirumala Venkateswara Swami’s and special pooja was performed. Union Minister Narayana Rane willingly participated in the service of Swami and visited Vaikuntha. TTD temple authorities welcomed them and made darshan arrangements.
