NOB- Telangana news: The hour that millions of devotees have been waiting for has arrived. Telangana Kumbh Mela. Medaram Maha Fair has started. The effigies of Saralamma from Kannepalli, Pagiddaraju from Punugondala of Gangaram mandal and Govindaraju from Kondai village of Ethurunagaram mandal are brought and installed on the benches. The first phase ends with the installation of the images of Saralamma, Pagiddaraju and Govindaraja. All this program is done completely according to the adivasi customs. The tribal priests left a day earlier with the images of Pagiddaraju from Punugondla, 78 km away.

The trip is completely on foot, barefoot, and traverses seven streams and dense forest. They will reach Saralamma Gadde on 21.02.2024 evening. At the same time, the priests from Kondai, 40 km away, will arrive near Gaddela with the images of Govindaraju. Devotees flock in droves to witness this wonderful moment. The whole region resounds with the name of Sammakka Sarakka. And the actual event of the fair will be unveiled on 22.02.2024 evening. Sammakka is brought from Chilakalagutta in the form of saffron bharani and placed on the bench.

Special buses thousands of policemen

Officials have made all arrangements for the four-day fair. RTC has laid 6 thousand special buses. Heavy security was arranged with 14 thousand policemen. This time the South Central Railway has also arranged special trains for the devotees coming from different states. A route map has been prepared to reach Medaram by buses from Kazipet or Warangal. And CM Revanth, Governor Tamili Sai, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar will come to see dieties.

Sitakka, a local minister is leading this fair with everything on her shoulders. He said that the history of the agreement will be recorded in stone so that the future generations will know it and last for a thousand years. Already 60 lakh people have visited the forest deities. Another one and a half million people are expected to attend this four-day fair. And from this they will give an opportunity to offer jaggery online.
