NOB- Delhi news: Bandi Sanjay Kumar has asked Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh to take steps to establish power loom cluster in Sircilla. In addition, under the National Handloom Development Corporation, the leaders made a plea to set up a raw material depot (yarn depot) for the purchase by weavers. Similarly, they wanted to increase the subsidy to the extent of 80 percent in the face of serious financial difficulties due to the cost of raw materials. Bandi Sanjay, who met Giriraj Singh in Delhi on 04.09.2024, submitted a petition to this effect. He said that setting up a power loom cluster in Sircilla will benefit thousands of weavers. He said that especially along with the modernization of machinery, it will increase productivity and healthy competitiveness among workers. He said that along with providing quality garments, employment opportunities will be available on a large scale.
Similarly, the establishment of yarn depot will provide raw material to the weavers in Sircilla easily at a low price. It is said that currently the weavers are in serious financial trouble and due to the increased costs, it is difficult to purchase even the raw materials. In this context, he asked to increase the subsidy currently given to 80 percent and take steps to provide loans at half of the interest. Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh responded positively to Bandi Sanjay petition. He promised to discuss the establishment of Yarn Depot and grant of Power Loom Cluster and take a positive decision. He said that they will discuss with the higher officials about the feasibility of implementation of 80 percent subsidy and loans at half of the interest rate and take an appropriate decision.
