NOB- Delhi news: The central government has taken a key decision by abolishing the no detention policy. With the abolition of this policy, it will be mandatory for students of classes 5 and 8 to pass the annual examinations. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear in the higher classes. From now on, there is a possibility of failing students of classes 5 and 8. Passing the examinations has been made mandatory for students of classes 5 and 8. The failed students will be re-examined within 2 months. If they pass within 2 months, they will be eligible to move to the next level. The no-detention policy came into effect through the Right to Education Act. However, this provision will apply only to the 3,000 schools run by the central government. This includes Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Sainik Schools. Already, 16 states and two union territories have abolished the no-detention policy. The center has stated that the implementation of this provision is a personal decision of the states.
