NOB- Goa news: Film producer KP Chowdhury, who was arrested in a drug case, committed suicide. KP Chowdhury, who hails from Khammam district, entered the film industry in 2016 and produced the Telugu version of the movie Kabali. KP Chowdhury, who tried to establish himself in the film industry as a producer, failed. After that, he was arrested in a drug case and has been suffering from financial problems for some time. KP Chowdhury’s relatives believe that financial problems and being involved in a drug case may have been the reasons for his suicide. He committed suicide in Goa on 03.02.2025 morning. KP Chowdhury produced the Telugu version of the movie Kabali starring superstar Rajinikanth in 2016. However, the movie did not give the expected results. Due to this, KP Chowdhury suffered losses. He also worked as a distributor for many movies in Telugu and Tamil. He worked as a distributor for films like Sardar Gabbar Singh, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Arjun Suravaram. He did not succeed in films as a producer and started a pub in Goa. He also faced losses in the pub and got involved in the drug business. He is selling drugs to celebrities with his contacts in the film industry. In 2023, KP Chaudhary was arrested by the police in a drug case. KP Chaudhary was arrested by the Rajendranagar police in the Varalakshmi Tiffins drug case. He was caught bringing and supplying 100 packets of cocaine from Goa. When the police caught him, 90 packets of cocaine were found in his possession. The police investigated to whom he sold another 10 packets. He was later released on bail and is residing in Goa. Meanwhile, KP Chowdhury, who was suffering from serious financial difficulties, committed suicide on 03.02.2025 morning. The police informed his family members about the suicide.
