Terrorist violence in Jammu and Kashmir

NOB- Jammu and Kashmir news: The violence committed by terrorists in Pahalgam, located in the beautiful plains of Jammu, has created a sensation. It is known that terrorists attacked tourists on 22.04.2025 in this tourist spot, known as Mini Switzerland. The terrorists killed 28 innocent people for not adopting a particular religion. The terrorists came dressed in local police uniforms and wearing face masks. First, they asked the tourists their names and religion. Then they forced them to recite the Kalma. Those who did not recite the Kalma those who hesitated were shot dead on the spot. They mainly targeted Hindu men. Ashavari, who had come to Pahalgam from Pune in Maharashtra to visit, said that the assailants separated the men and forced them to recite the Kalma. Those who could not recite were shot dead on the spot. Seeing the police-style uniforms, no one would have guessed that the attackers were terrorists. A senior official said that two foreigners and two locals were among the dead. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that this terrorist attack was heinous. The attack took place at 3 pm on 22.04.2025. Several parties, including the Pradesh Congress Committee, had called for a bandh and protests on 23.04.2025, condemning the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. With this, heavy security was also increased across Jammu. In the wake of the attack, the Congress, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu Bar Association, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal Jammu Kashmir unit have called for a one-day Jammu bandh on 23.04.2025. Special protests have been announced condemning terrorism. PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, who appealed to the people of Jammu to observe a complete bandh on 23.04.2025, said that it is not right for terrorists to kill innocent people. He said that the complete bandh will be observed to send a message that terrorism will not be tolerated on our soil.
