NOB-Kamareddy news: Greyhounds constable Vadla Sridhar (26) from Palvancha mandal center of Kamareddy district died in a land mine explosion in Karregutta Thanda. The family members wept bitterly upon learning the news of Sridhar’s death. Sridhar’s death has cast a shadow of sadness over the family and the village. Sridhar joined the job four years ago. Sridhar was married to Srivani nine months ago. Meanwhile, everyone in the village is in tears after this incident happened. While the Telangana Greyhounds police were combing in the forests of Penugolu and Lankapalli in Vajedu mandal of Mulugu district, an IED planted by Maoists exploded. Three Greyhounds policemen lost their lives in this explosion. The explosion occurred in the early hours of 08.05.2025 when the police went for combing. Three Greyhounds policemen from Telangana died on the spot. Sandeep from Ghatkesar in Medchal district, Pawan Kalyan from Hayathnagar in Rangareddy district, and Sridhar from Palvancha in Kamareddy district lost their lives in the IED explosion. The bodies were immediately airlifted to Mulugu in a special helicopter and from there they were taken to Warangal MGM Hospital by road. In addition, after the explosion, there was a gunfight between the security forces and the Maoists. RSI Randhir was injured in the gunfight and he was also immediately rushed to Hyderabad for treatment. The bodies of the deceased constables were taken to Hanumakonda headquarters after the postmortem. On the other hand, after the explosion, the Maoists confronted the security forces conducting the combing. Key Maoist leaders were killed in this firing. Eight Maoists were killed in the exchange of fire. Among them are Maoist Central Committee member Chandranna and S.Z.C. member Bandi Prakash. However, the police have not yet confirmed this.
