NOB-Meghalaya news: New facts are coming to light in the case of Sonam Raghuvanshi, who was arrested on charges of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi on honeymoon. It is reported that Sonam Raghuvanshi told the police that she did not commit the murder and that she was kidnapped by unknown people. The police have also arrested Raj Kushwaha, suspected to be Sonam’s boyfriend, in connection with this case. Key developments are coming to light in the murder case of Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raja Raghuvanshi. The couple, who hail from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, went on honeymoon to Sohra area of Meghalaya on May 20, 2025. Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was found on May 23rd 2025. After that, Sonam Raghuvanshi was found in Ghazipur and told the police that she was kidnapped by unknown people. However, the latest investigation has revealed many key facts regarding her husband’s murder. According to police sources, “I have nothing to do with this murder. Someone kidnapped me and then left me in Ghazipur. From there, I called my family members and told them about it,” Sonam said during the investigation. Police arrested Sonam from a hotel in Ghazipur. The hotel staff also confirmed that she spoke to her family members from her phone. Police also arrested a man named Raj Kushwaha, who is believed to be close to Sonam in this case. Kushwaha, a native of Indore, is an employee of a company run by Sonam’s brother, the brother of the deceased Raja Raghuvanshi said. Police suspect that Raj Kushwaha had been in close contact with Sonam for some time and that her husband may have been murdered as per his plan. Raja Raghuvanshi’s family from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, runs a transport business. Raja Raghuvanshi got married to Sonam on May 11th 2025. On the May 20th 2025, the newlyweds went to Meghalaya for their honeymoon. After that, both of them went missing. After almost 11 days, the police found the body of Raja Raghuvanshi in a deep valley near a waterfall in Sohra area of Meghalaya. The police have come to the preliminary conclusion that it was a murder as there were stab wounds on his body. Later, when a search operation was launched for Sonam, she was found in Ghazipur. The police revealed that she had surrendered in the case. Currently, the police are investigating the case from all angles.
