Thayaru, Parvathi, Vimala, and auto driver Apparao from Vijayawada showed a young woman from Krishna Lanka to bridegroom’s family members and even arranged a wedding in Vijayawada on the 13th of May 2025. The middleman collected Rs. 3.5 lakh from the groom’s family before the wedding, saying that the girl’s family’s financial situation was not good. After the reception, her brother Harish, who had accompanied Pallavi, disappeared after taking Rs. 50,000 from the groom’s family, saying that his mother was not well. The family members became suspicious when Pallavi refused to live with her husband. When Pallavi was confronted, she said that she had been married before and had a husband and two children, which surprised the groom’s family members. Pallavi said that she was living with her children after her husband left her and that she had been promised Rs. 50,000 if she pretended to be a bride for five days and she had only given 35 thousand, and that the brokers had taken the rest of the money. The victim’s family members realized that they had been deceived when she told them that her name was not Pallavi, but Amani. Realizing that she had been cheated, the victim approached the Vijayawada Krishna Lanka police.
