
NOB-Hyderabad news: Cybercrime police have arrested Jana Kiran Kumar from East Godavari district in a major movie piracy case that has created a sensation in the Telugu film industry. Police have found that Kiran pirated 40 big Telugu and Tamil movies in the last one and a half years and sold them to websites like 1Taer, 1tv, 5Mz. The complaint states that the film industry has suffered a loss of about Rs. 3700 crore due to this piracy. It is learnt that Kiran Kumar was recording movies in cinema theatres in Hyderabad through Camcorders and selling them in HD print form to piracy mafia groups. He used to take payments in the form of 400 crypto currency or Bitcoins for each movie. Police investigation revealed that this money was converted into Indian currency through platforms like Zoo Pay. Files of recently released movies like Kannappa, Pellikani Prasad, Game Changer, and Rajdhani were seized from Kiran. The accused stated in his statement that he has recorded a total of 65 movies so far. He made huge profits by recording them in movie theaters and selling them to the piracy mafia. With this arrest, a more in-depth investigation is underway into the piracy network. The police are taking strict action to stop this racket that is causing huge loss to the film industry.
