
NOB- Suryapet news: Suryapet Sub-Division DSP Prasanna Kumar, Town Inspector Venkataiah and Sub-Inspector Edukondalu disclosed the details of the case at a press conference organized at Suryapet Town Police Station. Three accused were arrested on 01.09.2025 at Rithika Hotel in Suryapet town on reliable information in the case of the death of a five-month pregnant woman, Anusha, from Raghavapuram village, Mothe mandal. The hospital administrators A1 Gorantla Sanjeeva, A6 Veeraboyana Venu, who set up an abortion clinic at Omega Hospital in Suryapet town, and A2 Jala Janaiah, who set up an abortion clinic for scanning, were arrested.
The accused arrested are:
A1 – Gorantla Sanjeeva, Suryapet town, Omega Hospital Management.
A2 – Jala Janaiah, Tekumatla village, Suryapet mandal, RMP doctor.
A6 – Veeraboyana Venu, Suryapet town, Omega Hospital Management.
Bhaiyya Nagesh of Raghavpuram village, Mothe mandal, has two daughters. His wife, Baiyya Anusha, is pregnant for the third time and is in the fifth month of pregnancy. With the intention of knowing whether the baby in the womb is a girl or a boy, he contacted A2 Jala Janaiah, an RMP in Tekumatla village, through his close relative A8 Uppala Sandeep of the same village, and went to A3 Bathka Yadagiri, RMP of Nakirekal, and on 17/05/2025, an illegal ultrasound scan was conducted and it was found out that the baby in the womb was a girl. For this, Janaiah took Rs. 12 thousand from A9 Baiyya Nagesh, the husband of the deceased. After knowing that the fetus was a girl, A2 Janaiah came to Omega Hospital (Sanjeevini Hospital) in Suryapet town on 17/05/2025 through A1 Gorantla Sanjeeva and A6 Veeraboyina Venu to get an abortion with RMP Nagaraju of Kusumanchi and RMP Chevugoni Ganesh of Arvapalli. The abortion was done and the condition of mother deteriorated due to heavy bleeding. The doctors who examined the woman there confirmed that Bhaya Anusha, who was 5 months pregnant, had died. The deceased Anusha was cremated on the same day in Raghavpuram village. In this regard, the District Medical Officer’s Office filed a complaint at the Suryapet town police station and a case was registered under Section 105, 90 BNS of the Indian Penal Code, Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act 23, Pre-Conception Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act 1994 under Crime No. 197/2025, an investigation was conducted and ten accused were added as accused.

A6 – Veeraboyana Venu, Suryapet town, Omega Hospital Management.
A7 – Pidamarthi Shobha Suryapet town, Hospital Nurse.
A8 – Uppala Sandeep, Sarvaram village, Mothe mandal. (Arrested, May 29th)
A9 – Bhaiya Nagesh, husband of the deceased, Raghavpuram, Mothe mandal.
A10 – Thotla Ganesh, Vardhamanukot village, Nagaram mandal, residence Vidyanagar Suryapet.
The case was investigated and the accused A8 Uppala Sandeep, who had worked in the hospital, contacted Janaiah of Tekumatla village and helped the deceased’s husband. Sandeep was arrested on May 29th 2025 and sent to remand. A5 Chauvugoni Ganesh, who had performed the abortion, was arrested on May 29th 2025 and sent to remand. RMP doctor Bathka Yadagiri, who had scanned the deceased in Nakirekal and confirmed that the baby was a girl, was arrested on August 8th 2025 and sent to remand. After further investigation of the case, on reliable information, the city police under the command of Inspector Venkatayya arrested the accused A1 Gorantla Sanjeeva, A2 Jala Janaiah, and A6 Veeraboyina Venu on reliable information that they were at Hotel Ridika at 6:30 am on 01.09.2025. The accused A2 Jala Janaiah made arrangements to get an abortion. The hospital management arranged for A1 Sanjeeva and A6 Veeraboyina Venu to get an abortion at the hospital.
