National Conference Successfully Concluded,“Let’s Stop Killer Robots”

NOB- Hyderabad news: A national conference on the theme “Let’s Stop Killer Robots Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Weapons” was successfully organized on Saturday at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram, Baglingampally, Hyderabad. The event was jointly organized by the Indian Institute for Peace, Disarmament and Environmental Protection (IIPDEP) and Navabharata Nirman Sangh. Chief Guest Dr. Riaz Ali, Chairman of the State Central Library, addressed the gathering and emphasized that technology must always serve human values in the pursuit of peace and harmony. Delivering the keynote address, Major General N. Srinivasa Rao analysed the future impact of Artificial Intelligence based weapons on human society and highlighted the urgent need for ethical frameworks and global cooperation. Dr. Balakrishna Kuravay, President of IIPDEP, presided over the conference and elaborated on the ongoing international movements advocating for global arms control and peace. Surepalli Ravi Kumar, President of Navabharata Nirman Sangh, stated that peace consciousness is essential for the welfare and stability of society. Several dignitaries, including K. Shankar Rao, Padmini Singh, Ashok, Raja, Sunil, Rajesh, Upendra Gupta, and Aruna Jyothi, participated in the discussions and shared their perspectives. The conference witnessed an active presence of scholars, students, and peace enthusiasts, making it a thought-provoking and successful event. In the context of Artificial Intelligence based weapon systems posing a serious threat to humanity, the conference became a meaningful platform for reflection and constructive dialogue. Renowned writer, critic, and recipient of several national and international literary awards, Dr. Chitikena Kiran Kumar, Member of the International Benevolent Research Forum, shared his perspective: “In today’s global scenario, the dominance of Artificial Intelligence over human intelligence is an alarming development. Robotic warfare will lead to a moral crisis questioning the very values of humanity. Technology must serve humanity by safeguarding peace, justice, and human rights. Awareness conferences on arms control will guide society towards new dimensions of responsible thinking.”
