NOB-Warangal news: The ACB officials have started an investigation into the involvement of the District Fisheries Department Officer. The officials are causing trouble to the fishermen by taking unnecessary care of their legitimate duties. They are sending letters to the fishermen to turn them away from the membership registration program conducted in 2023. The fed up victims met the Warangal ACB officials and filed a complaint. The details of the ACB raids at the Fisheries Department Officer’s office were revealed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau Warangal DSP Sambaiah. In 2023, 124 people applied for fishermen’s membership in the Madannapet Fisheries Cooperative Society in Warangal district. The society president has applied to the fisheries department officials to finalize the membership registration for all of them. However, they are unnecessarily delaying the relevant work. Society president Narasaiah, who did not like the bribery demands of the relevant department officials, directly approached the ACB officials. On their orders, on 17.10.2025, the ACB officials caught Field Officer Harish red handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 75,000 in the office of the Warangal District Fisheries Department Officer. A circular was issued by the government in August 2025 stating that the allocation of new memberships should be done within the districts. Upon learning of this, the fishermen association president Narasaiah confronted the officials. He categorically stated that the work would not be done unless Field Officer Harish was paid Rs. 80,000 for new memberships. When the matter was complained to District Fisheries Officer Nagamani, the officer also said that she would give new memberships only if the field officer gave the money mentioned. With this, the society chairman Narasaiah, while convincing them to curb the corruption of the officials, filed a complaint with the Warangal ACB officials. The ACB officials who entered the field on the basis of the complaint caught Field Officer Harish red handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 75,000. The ACB officials have registered a case and are investigating.
