NOB-Karimnagar news: According to the details provided by the ACP, Anjayya (36), a resident of a village in the district, got married 15 years ago. Anjayya, who earned his living through agricultural work, went abroad for employment in 2017 and returned to his native village in 2019. However, after returning home, Anjayya noticed his wife’s close relationship with his father, Lachayya, and reprimanded them both. Even after this, their behavior did not change, so he confided in his relatives and expressed his distress. Lachayya, feeling that his son was an obstacle to their illicit relationship, conspired with his daughter-in-law to eliminate his son. In that process, three months ago, they considered using a sorcerer to kill him with a magic potion. However, they abandoned this idea, thinking that if he fell ill as a result, they would have to take care of him.A month ago, Lachayya met Kolipaka Ravi and struck a deal to have his son murdered for Rs. 3 lakhs. As part of this agreement, he paid an advance of Rs. 1.25 lakhs. After receiving the advance, Ravi, along with Upparapalli Koteshwar, whom he knew, and his friend Mohammed Abrar, hatched a plan to murder Anjayya. To execute this plan, they first befriended Anjayya by drinking alcohol with him daily. On the 02.12.2025, they took him to a canal on the outskirts of the village, made him drink alcohol, strangled him to death, and threw his body into the canal.Later, Anjayya’s wife and father filed a complaint with the police stating that he was missing. On the 05.12.2025, Anjayya’s body was found in the canal. Although they tried to make it look like an accidental death, the police, using technical evidence, suspected it was a murder and launched an investigation. When the killers came to Lachayya’s house for the remaining contract money, the police apprehended them. During questioning in their own style, the accused confessed to the crime. The ACP stated that Lachayya, his daughter-in-law, along with Koteshwar, Abrar, and Ravi, were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
