NOB- Hyderabad news: ACB officials conducted searches at the houses of CCS ACP Umamaheswara Rao on allegations of accumulating assets beyond his income. Officials found that Uma Maheswara Rao had accumulated assets on a large scale under benami names.   From 21.05.2024 morning, ACB officers conducted searches at Umamaheswara Rao’s residence in Ashok Nagar, Hyderabad, his elder brother and uncle’s houses in the same apartment, CCS office, two other friend’s houses in the city and two places in Andhra Pradesh. In these searches, more than 20 documents related to cash, gold and silver ornaments, immovables and chattels worth Rs.60 lakhs were seized along with many important documents. There are allegations against Umamaheswa Rao that during his tenure as Ibrahimpatnam ACP, he accumulated huge wealth through embezzlement. There were allegations of collecting large sums of money in land disputes. On the other hand, there are allegations of taking bribes in many cases in CCS, which he is currently working. Many people came to his residence where the search was going on and complained to the authorities that they were supporting the accused without giving justice to the victims. , there are allegations of collecting money from the accused in Sahitya Infra case. Many accused him of supporting the accused and doing injustice to the victims. ACB Joint Director Sudhindra said that complete details will be revealed after the search is over. Officials revealed that Umamaheswara Rao, who is continuing as Sahitya Infra Investigation Officer, is not cooperating with the investigation. Officials said there are some names in Umamaheswara Rao’s diary. He said that the name Sandeep was written in it. It was found that Umamaheswara Rao and Sandeep had invested together. Officials said that they are investigating Sandeep’s role in depth. It has been revealed that the details of cases dealt by Umamaheswara Rao in CCS are being verified. It is reported that Umamaheswara Rao demanded money from the victims in Sahitya Infra case. ACB Joint Director Sudhindra Babu  said that ACP Uma Maheshwar Rao arrested arrested in disproportionate assets case and will be produced in court.
