NOB- Kuwait news: A woman who went to Kuwait to earn a living after her husband died was attacked with acid by her employers. The matter came to light when the hospital staff informed the victim’s family over the phone. Going into full details Kakada Lakshmi, a resident of Ponnada, U. Kothapalli mandal, Kakinada district, had her husband died. With this, she decided to go to Kuwait to earn a living. In this context, she went to Kuwait two months ago through an agent from YSR district. There, an agreement was reached that if she worked in a house, she would be paid 150 dinars as wages. However, after joining the job, Lakshmi questioned the employers when they gave her only 100 dinars. They got angry and threw acid on Lakshmi and admitted her to a mental hospital. This incident happened ten days ago. After the victim recovered, she told the hospital staff what had happened. They made her file a complaint with the police station. They also informed her family members. Meanwhile, since Lakshmi’s passport was still with the owners, Lakshmi said that they were harassing her to return it only if the case against them was withdrawn. She is lying in the hospital, not knowing what to do. The family members expressed their concern that if they contact the agent who sent Lakshmi to Kuwait, he is demanding money. They want the government to respond and support Lakshmi.
