
NOB- Ratnagiri district news: Violence against women continues in the country. It is known that the recent incident of sexual assault on a trainee doctor in Kolkata is shocking. Doctors and students have been protesting this incident on a large scale for the past few days. They are demanding strict laws to prevent such incidents from happening against women. Before the Kolkata incident was forgotten, a similar incident took place in Maharashtra recently. An auto driver raped a nursing student in Ratnagiri district. According to the police, a 19-year-old nursing trainee got into an auto to go home after finishing college. The driver exchanged words with the student in the middle of the road. He provided fresh water to drink. But since the water was already laced with drugs, the student lost consciousness after drinking it. After that, the driver took the girl to a deserted place and assaulted her. Later he escaped from there. After some time the victim regained consciousness and realized that she had been raped. The matter was immediately informed to the family members. They immediately complained to the police. The police have registered an FIR and are searching for the accused. They are trying to catch him on the basis of CCTV footage. Currently, the affected student is undergoing treatment in a government hospital. In the wake of this incident, the local people started a large-scale agitation in the area. They blocked the road for hours demanding immediate action in this case.
