NOB- Delhi news: On 06.02.2025, we have conveyed our party’s thoughts to the Central Government in a letter on the changes that the Central Government wants to make in the UGC regulations. The main reason why the citizens of the country are successfully showcasing their skills all over the world is the universities of the country. This has been possible only because of the results of research studies being conducted in the universities. In addition to the Central and State Governments, there are many private educational institutions, universities and centers of excellence like IITs in the country. We have conveyed our party’s demands to the Union Minister Dharmendra on the changes that the Central Government wants to make in the UGC regulations. The Center, contrary to the spirit of democracy in the country, is completely handing over the responsibility of the search committees for the appointment of Vice-Chancellors of universities under the jurisdiction of the State to the State Governor. The upcoming UGC regulations were explained in detail to Dharmendra Pradhan After holding a meeting with education sector intellectuals on behalf of our party on the upcoming new UGC guidelines and changes, we conveyed our party’s thoughts to the central government. It was informed that the central government’s complete takeover of state government universities in the form of governors is against the spirit of federalism. By introducing a provision called no suitable candidate found, there is a risk that those jobs will be filled by other categories on the pretext of not finding candidates other than those according to the reservations for SC, ST and BC. This is a violation of the constitutional right given to the respective social groups by the Constitution of India. It was suggested that priority should be given not only to academic qualifications but also to research in university recruitment. A long six-page appeal was made on behalf of our party. It was requested that the UGC should formulate new rules without taking away the autonomy and rights of the states. We also met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. As per the request of Korutla MLA Dr. Sanjay, on behalf of our party and requested that the National Highway 365B, which is being constructed up to Sircilla, be widened from Vemulawada to Korutla. We have requested that a road cum rail bridge be constructed via Mid Maneru and that the National Highway 63 be widened via Vemulawada to Korutla. We will also follow up on the case filed by the party against those who have changed their party. We will definitely fight in court to get the MLAs who changed parties prosecuted.
