NOB- Delhi news: Arvind Kejriwal, who has already been to jail in the liquor scam case and lost the Delhi Assembly elections, has received another shock. The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal and some others on charges of violating the Public Property Act and misusing public money. The Delhi Police said that a compliance report was filed in the Rouse Avenue Court and an FIR was registered. The Rouse Avenue Court will hear the case on April 18th 2025. The police said in the report given to the Rouse Avenue Court by the state police that the investigation was started after a formal complaint was filed against Kejriwal and others. On March 11th 2025, a Delhi court had directed the police to register an FIR on allegations of misuse of public funds for putting up huge hoardings across Delhi. The court held that the application under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure should be allowed. Accordingly, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal in her judgment directed the concerned SHO to immediately register an FIR under Section 3 of the Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007, and any other offence that appears to have been committed from the facts of the case. In the complaint filed in 2019, Kejriwal, then Matiala MLA Gulab Singh (AAP) and former Dwarka A ward councillor Nitika Sharma had alleged that they had misused public funds by putting up huge hoardings across the area.
