Chaos of Maoists’ letters in Jagityala district

Letters received in the name of Maoists in Birpur mandal of Jagityala district are creating a stir. It is reported that a total of 28 people, including several MPTCs in the mandal including the Sarpanch and some other public representatives, have received letters. The letter states that some leaders of the mandal are encroaching and selling forest lands and such people should change their practice now. Otherwise they will be killed in the public court. It appears that the letters were written in the name of Mallikarjun, the Maoist secretary of the Godavari belt area, on the letterheads printed as Jagdalpur District Area Committee. It is reliable information that a letter has been sent not only to political leaders but also to a government official in the mandal. The letters sent in the name of Maoists warning several leaders in Jagityala district where there is no movement of Naxals has become a topic of local discussion. This caused concern among the local public representatives. It is yet to be known whether the letters were really written by Maoists or by some miscreants. It is reported that the police are investigating to find out where the letters came from.
