DENGUE D2 VARIANT- A CONCERN OF HAEMORRHAGE

ICMR Director General  Dr.Balaram Bhargav said that the D2 strain  is of a concern now in India as it is virulent than the normal strain.DENV-2 or D2 strain due to its virulent nature is causing severe disease. And also causing haemorrhage causing death of parents

Since vaccine is not there for Dengue, the complications are severe. So we need to fight against it as said by Dr.V.K.Paul(Health) Niti Aayog.

Symptoms

  • Severe headaches
  • Vomiting
  • High and sudden fever
  • Fatigue
  • Rash on skin that appears after five days of fever onset.
  • Very severe joint and muscle pain
  • Nausea
  • Pain behind the eyes

Since, vaccines are not available and severity of disease is more, protecting ourselves from mosquitoes by using mosquitoe repellents, mosquitoe nets etc., as per the government.
