NOB-Suryapet news: Digital technology has brought the world to our fingertips. In the digital age, humanity is facing new challenges that have never been seen before. New online addictions that are invisible are putting the future of health in question. Investment scams, fake links, and groups that appear trustworthy are financially and mentally debilitating people. Sites and links that are greedy and say that if you invest in online business, you will double your money in a short time are increasing. If citizens do not notice the dangers of this digital world, serious damage will inevitably occur, said District SP Narasimha IPS in a statement. Online betting, deep fake videos, romance scams, games that affect children, all these are affecting families, especially the youth and children. Invisible criminals are now infiltrating our lives from behind the screens and creating fraud and deception, said the SP. He said that many people are committing suicide due to online betting due to debt, families are being torn apart, he said that betting, which started as fun with a small amount, turns into an addiction, he urged citizens to remember that betting is not a way to make money. Cyber criminals are creating deep fake videos by taking photos and videos posted online and blackmailing them financially by destroying their dignity as a person. With these deep fake videos, women and youth are facing severe mental stress. Starting from friendship, they are being subjected to romantic scams on social media, they are being blackmailed with morphing photos and videos. He said that looking at mobile phones too much at night is causing insomnia, health problems, lack of concentration in studies, and loss of interest in work. Fraudulent calls to extort money by threatening that personal identity has been used in a crime and threatening digital arrest are increasing every day. It is better not to go for loans in microfinance for app loans. If you take loans through these, you are being robbed financially by charging interest on interest. Frauds are being committed by claiming to provide jobs abroad, incidents of stealing biometric data of people through fake identity update centers are increasing, and children’s information is being stolen in the name of prizes on gaming platforms. These are the new challenges brought by the digital world, and to avoid and overcome these, vigilance, awareness and caution are the real weapons. Technology is a double edged sword, and lives depend on citizens making good use of it, the SP urged.
