NOB- Suryapet news: On August 18, 2024, Pulichintala Arundhati, 50 years old, was going to her close relative’s wedding in Vibulapuram village, Kethapalli mandal, Nalgonda district, Mahila Mothe mandal, in Tungaturthi village. She was travelling with her handbag containing gold ornaments in a bus belonging to Khammam depot at the Suryapet bus stand along with two other people when her gold ornaments were stolen without any incident. Four-line gold bangles weighing six tolas, three and a half tolas of hand bracelets, a five tolas Chndraharam necklace, and a three and a half tolas gold mangalsutra chain were stolen by unknown persons. The then SI registered a case and investigated. In order to quickly check and catch the accused, Munagala Circles Ramakrishna Reddy CCS Inspector Sivakumar and CCS staff took advantage of the technology and used the available evidence to identify the accused and keep an eye on their movements. While the case is under investigation, two thieves were arrested on 25.09.2025. On 24.09.2025, at 6 pm, at the Mamillagudem Toll Plaza under the jurisdiction of the Mothe Police Station on the Suryapet-Khammam National Highway, a car coming from Hyderabad was stopped by Munagala Circle Inspector Ramakrishna Reddy. Two suspicious persons in the car were detained and questioned. 18 tola gold ornaments worth about Rs. 20 lakhs were found in their possession. As proper evidence regarding the jewellery did not provide an answer, suspicion arose and a police team led by the Munagala Circle Inspector detained both of them and interrogated them. During interrogation, Ramakrishna, husband of Garadi Jyoti, a 57-year-old woman (A-1) from Budrapet village, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh state, current residence Almasguda Hyderabad, and (A-3) Mohammed Sheikh Sameer, 32 years old, from Badangpet, Hyderabad, confessed that they had stolen a handbag containing gold jewellery from a woman in an RTC bus going from Suryapet to Khammam via Mothe in the month of August 2024. Accused A-1 Garadi Jyoti had old theft cases in the surrounding areas of Hyderabad and was suspected of being arrested if she sold the gold there. On 24.09.2025, she was leaving Hyderabad in Baleno car with the intention of selling it in Andhra Pradesh via Khammam. When the police, led by the Munagala Circle Inspector, conducted a check at Mamillagudem, they were arrested.

Along with the two, another person named A-2 Durga was also involved in this theft. Durga is currently absconding and will also be arrested soon.

Details of the seized property:

1. 18 tola gold ornaments worth approximately Rs. 20 lakhs.

2. A Maruti Baleno car.

3. Two mobile phones.

The arrested accused

A-1: Garadi Jyoti’s husband Ramakrishna, 57 years old, Budrapet village, Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, current residence Almasguda, Hyderabad.

A-2: Durga (absconding)

A-3: Mohammed Sheikh Sameer, 32 years old, Badangpet, Hyderabad.

Past criminal history: A1 Jyoti has 7 theft cases in Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Sangareddy districts, the SP said that they are investigating how many cases are against A2 and A3.

The CCS staff who worked well in this case were rewarded and congratulated. Additional SP Ravinder Reddy, DCRB DSP Ravi, Munagala Circle Inspector Ramakrishna Reddy, then Mothe SI Yadavendar Reddy, CCS SI Harikrishna and CCS staff were present in the meeting.
