In this way, he raped 299 patients in his service for three decades. It is even more sad that most of them were children. A 74-year-old doctor named Joel Le Scournec used to work as a surgeon in a hospital in Brittany, France. Between 1989 and 2014, he sexually assaulted the patients who came to him. He would commit this atrocity while they were intoxicated. However, Joel’s true identity was revealed in 2017. A case was registered after the accused allegedly misbehaved with a six year old girl who was in his neighborhood. As part of the investigation of this case, the police inspected the house of the accused Joel and shocking facts came to light. The police seized more than 3 lakh photos and more than 650 pornographic videos from his house. Another shocking fact is that the accused wrote in his diary that he was very attracted to children and animals and was engaged in sexual activities. Moreover, the police officers were also shocked to find that he did take notes on whom and how he sexually assaulted them. The investigation into this case has been going on for four months. Recently, he confessed to the crime in court. He told the court that between 1989 and 2014, he had raped 158 boys and 141 girls. He said that most of them were children. “I have done very bad things and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Joel told the court. The trial will continue on 26.02.2025, and if he is found guilty, Joel could face a harsh prison sentence until his death.
