She is well known as Jharkhand’s Governor and a politician who always served people with dedication. She will become first Tribal and second woman president if elected. This proposal was done by BJP because of her contributions such as
- In 2015 she was the first woman Governor of Jharkhand.
- She was elected as MLA in 2000 from Rairangapur as BJP candidate.
- And also as BJP MLA from Mayurbhanj in 2009.
- She joined BJP in 1997 as the Councillor of Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat.
- She was the vice president of the Scheduled Tribes Morcha of BJP.
- During the Biju Janta Dal coalition with the Bhartiya Janta Party in Odisha, she was the commerce and transport minister of the Odisha state.
- Later, she was also the minister for the fisheries and animal resources development department.
- She has a strong administrative experience with a downtrodden nature and committed to serve the society selflessly which makes her humble even she has lost her husband and two sons.
