
NOB-Nandyala news: The incident took place under Atmakuru forest division.A male bear was hunted by setting up electric wires in the crop fields under Sivapuram range of Atmakuru forest division Kothapalli mandal.Later, the bear’s head, legs and skin were separated and the body parts were kept in a lodge in Atmakuru town.While bargaining with the businessmen from the lodge, the forest officials conducted searches in the lodge on the basis of specific information. A trader who came to buy organs along with three hunters was detained by the forest officials. Atmakuru forest ranger Pattabhi informed that people hunt the bear and took its life because of the misconception that eating the bear’s organs increases one’s masculinity. Speaking on the occasion, the forest officials warned that no one should be fooled by such false propaganda. If wild animals are killed, everyone have to face severe punishment.
