NOB- Lucknow news: A 3-year-old girl was raped in the Alambagh police station limits of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and her health condition is serious. She is undergoing treatment there. On the other hand, after raping the girl, the accused tried to escape from the police, but died in an encounter. The incident took place on June 5th 2025, after registering a complaint in this regard, the police formed several teams and started efforts to catch the accused. After examining the CCTV footage, the police finally achieved a breakthrough. Lucknow DSP Ashish Srivastava said that the incident took place on June 5th 2025 at 10 am, and a complaint was registered in this regard at the Alambagh police station. As soon as the complaint was received, the police team was fully alerted. After examining the CCTV footage, the accused was arrested. According to the DSP, the accused has been identified as Deepak Verma. The police got this information through the number plate of his scooty. The accused, who was seriously injured in the police encounter, was admitted to the hospital. Doctors declared him dead during treatment. On the other hand, it is learnt that the condition of the victim is also critical. The girl will undergo surgery on 06.06.2025 at the KGMU Trauma Center in Lucknow. The scooty used in the incident, a gun and explosives have been recovered from the accused Deepak Verma. A case has been registered against the accused Deepak Verma earlier too. The investigation of that case is ongoing. In the encounter between the police and the accused, the bullet-proof jacket of SHO Alambagh and the car were hit by bullets. Five teams were formed to nab the accused and the police identified him within 24 hours. When the accused tried to control the fleeing accused, he opened fire on the police. In the police retaliatory fire, the accused, Deepak Verma, was hit by a bullet and was later rushed to the hospital. The doctors declared him dead while undergoing treatment there.
