
NOB-Maharastra news: Another tragic incident has taken place in the state of Maharashtra. A female doctor working in Satara district, Maharashtra committed suicide. However, the suicide note she wrote on her palm made the incident even more sensational. In the note, she stated that a police sub-inspector had sexually harassed her several times in the last five months and raped her four times. This doctor, who is working as a medical officer at the Phaltan Sub-District Hospital, had written that Sub-Inspector Gopal Badne had mentally and physically harassed her. She made it clear in her note that she had taken this decision because the police were constantly harassing her. This incident has sparked outrage across the state. Before committing suicide, the doctor wrote a letter to the DSP on June 19th 2025, explaining the harassment being faced by her. She alleged in her letter that Badne, Patil and Ladputre, three officers working at the Phaltan Rural Police Station, Maharashtra had harassed her. She also asked for immediate action. Sub-Inspector Badne was suspended with immediate effect on the orders of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Opposition leaders have strongly criticized the police system over the incident and expressed anger over the government’s failure to provide protection to women.
