A fire broke out at Nataraj Cloth Store in Malyaala Mandal Centre. As it was a Sunday 23.04.2023, the shop was closed and smoke was coming out of the shop. Mohan, the owner of the shop, saw the smoke coming out and informed the fire engine. The fire broke out. The shopkeepers and the local people panicked as the smoke spread heavily. Soon the fire engine reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The clothes and supplies already in the shop were completely burnt. Tatipamula Mohan, the owner of the shop, said that the damage was around 20 lakhs. In the building where the accident took place, there is a cloth shop downstairs while the upper floors are occupied by Mohan’s family. A major accident was averted as everyone came out after smelling smoke from the shop. The owner Mohan complained that if the accident had happened at night, there would have been loss of life. However, it is believed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Malyaala police have reached the place of the incident and are investigating. A large crowd gathered near the scene of the fire accident.
