
The youth who were aspiring to join armed forces is against the Agneepath scheme of government and have started protest from Thursday onwards damaging the public property. The scheme includes temporary recruitment for four years of nearly 45 to 50 thousand soldiers, of them only 25 percent will be continuing for another 15 years under permanent commission and the rest of them are not even provided with pension. All India Students Association has called for a strike on Friday regarding this issue. After protests in several states, the government raised the upper age limit to 23 years from 21 years for recruitment under the scheme for the year 2022 recruitment. But the government said that only after extensive consultations with serving armed forces officers from past two years, this plan was developed and this scheme was given by Department of Military Officers and many former officers recognised it as beneficial.
One person died in Telangana among the protestors at Secundrabad Railway station due to injuries in police firing. Policeman rushed him to hospital after being shot but he couldn’t survive. 13 were hurt with injuries and another one is critically injured. This happened as a result of controlling the protestors by Police at Secundrabad railway station when the protestors have set fire two trains at secundrabad railway station vandalizing it. The protestors also were pelting stones on police.
