NOB-Mumbai news: A massive encounter took place in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.An exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the Maoists in the Kola Maraka forest area under Repanpally police station on the Maharashtra-Telangana border on 19.03.2024 morning. In this encounter, four Maoist leaders of the Telangana State Committee have been killed. They have been identified as DVC members Vargeesh, Mangathu, Platoon members Kurusam Raju and Venkatesh.The police seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the spot. The police department had earlier announced a huge reward for two of the dead.The police said that there is a reward of Rs.36 lakh on them. It has been revealed that the search is still going on in that area.
