NOB-Janagama district news:  A son stopped his father’s funeral for the sake of property. This incident took place in Edunutula village of Kodakandla mandal in Janagama district. He insisted that his father’s body would not be cremated until the property issue was finalized.With this, the dead body was kept in front of the house for three days without being cremated. According to the details given by the locals, Velikatte Yadagiri (55) has two wives. The first wife has a son Ramesh, while the second wife Padma has a son Upender and daughter Shobharani.However, Padma’s son Upender died of illness earlier. Yadagiri had 15 acres of land in the village, five acres of which were registered in the name of Ramesh and two acres were given as dowry to his daughter Shobharani.Three more acres were sold and gold was given to her. The remaining five acres were written in the name of his second wife Padma. However, Padma sold three acres of the land in her name and bought a house in Hyderabad for her daughter Shobha.Meanwhile, Yadagiri died of illness on February 10, 2025. After settling the matter of the remaining two acres in the name of his step mother Padma, Yadgiri’s son Ramesh insisted that he would not perform the last rites for his father. The villagers also supported Ramesh, and Yadagiri’s dead body has been in front of the house for three days. Finally, the villagers talked to Padma and Shobha on 12.02.2025 and settled the dispute. With this, Yadagiri’s last rites will finally be performed on 13.02.2025 .
