Gangula, Srinivas Gowd’s election petitions invalid- High Court issued key orders

NOB-Hyderabad news :A petition was filed in the High Court of Telangana claiming that the election of Gangula Kamalakar as Karimnagar BRS MLA was invalid, and on 31.07.2023 it was heard.

BJP National General Secretary Bandi Sanjay filed this petition alleging that Gangula Kamalakar had given false details in the election affidavit. It is known that Bandi contested as an MLA during the 2018 elections and lost to Gangula. After that he contested from Karimnagar MP seat and won.

However, Bandi Sanjay filed a petition claiming that Gangula had submitted an affidavit with false details. At this juncture, 31.07.2023 hearing was held. The High Court allowed the petitioner to be cross-examined. The High Court, which constituted a commission with retired district judge Shailaja, ordered to complete the cross-examination from August 12th to 17th 2023. The next hearing was adjourned to August 21st 2023.

Another BRS MLA and Minister Srinivas Goud’s disqualification petition was also heard in the High Court. A person named Raghavendra Raju from Mahabubnagar has filed a petition claiming that Srinivasa Goud has submitted false certificates in the election affidavit and that Srinivasa Goud is not eligible to continue as an MLA. But when Minister Srinivas Gowd approached the High Court to strike it down, it was the latest drop. In this order the hearing on this petition continued on 31.07.2023. The bench is conducting the inquiry based on the election affidavit filed on 19-11-2018. In this order, the bench ordered the petitioner to submit the affidavit and evidence to the court. The court ordered both the plaintiff and the defendant not to share any information about the trial with the media. The next hearing was adjourned to next 07.08.2023.
