
NOB-Mancherial news: An idol of the goddess was unearthed in Nelamaliga village of Mulkala mandal in Mancherial district. Following this discovery, villagers from the surrounding areas flocked to see the idol. Special prayers were offered to the goddess with turmeric and vermilion. The area was crowded with a large number of devotees. Police intervened and appealed to the people to maintain a queue. At one point, controlling the crowd became difficult for the police. Along with the priest of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh, several pontiffs and Swamijis undertook a Godavari Parikrama (circumambulation) pilgrimage. On December 12th 2025, this pilgrimage reached Mancherial district. On this occasion, they pointed to a spot on the way to the Godavari river Pushkar Ghat in Nelamaliga village of Mulkala mandal and said that there was an unknown energy in that area. With the permission of the landowner, locals performed special prayers in the area and carried out excavations. During these excavations, an idol of Goddess Durga seated on a lion was unearthed. Following this, special prayers were offered to the goddess’s idol. The villagers expressed their joy at the discovery of the goddess’s idol. The villagers said that it was their good fortune that the goddess’s idol was found in their village.
