The police have arrested a man from the groom’s village of Dhanpura. The police suspect that the accused who committed the murder has a relationship with the deceased’s fiancee. The accused, Saddam, was arrested on 16.06.2025. The accused told the police that he had hidden the mobile phone of the murdered Nihal. Nihal was murdered on the 15.06.2025. After the murder, when the police at Kotwali Ganj police station were trying to seize Nihal’s mobile, Saddam tried to snatch a pistol from the police and run away. As a result, the police opened fire on him in self-defense. As a result, the accused Saddam was injured. The bride has been identified as Gulfasha. It is believed that she, along with her lover Saddam, had planned to kill Nihal. The accused’s friend also helped in this murder. Currently, Gulfasha and another accused are absconding. The victim, Nihal (35), works as a cook for weddings and parties. His marriage to Gulfasha, a resident of Dhanupura village under Bhot police station limits, was fixed four months ago. The wedding was scheduled for June 15^th 2025, and preparations were underway at Nihal’s house. On June 14^th 2025, the family said that he received a call from a person who introduced himself as a relative of the bride. With this, Nihal went out with the two. When he did not return home in the evening, his family members searched for him. Based on the CCTV footage, a case was registered against the accused Saddam, his friends. Police revealed that Gulfasha had been in a relationship with her 32-year-old neighbour Saddam for a year.
