NOB-Gandikota news: An inter student was brutally murdered in Gandikota, a tourist destination in Jammalamadugu limits of the district. She was identified as Vaishnavi, a second-year student at a private junior college in Proddatur. The student had gone home on 14.07.2025, saying that she was going to Gandikota with friends. Her parents were alarmed when the student did not return home even after nightfall. They immediately filed a complaint at the Proddatur police station. The police, who had registered a case against Vaishnavi, launched a serious search for her. However, on 15.07.2025 morning, locals noticed a naked body of a girl lying in the bushes in Gandikota and immediately informed the police. The police reached there and examined the body and identified it as Vaishnavi. The student’s parents were then informed. The parents rushed there and wept bitterly after seeing their child who had been brutally murdered. The police, who registered a case, have started an investigation. The student is a resident of Hanuman Durthi village in Erraguntla mandal. The student is reported to have been in a love affair with a young man named Lokesh from the same village for five years. Police identified her from CCTV footage as Vaishnavi went to Gandikota on a bike with the young man Lokesh on 14.07.2025. Jammalamadugu police officers reached the scene and started an investigation. The police are investigating the reasons for the student’s murder.
