NOB- Delhi news: Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has resigned from his post. He sent his resignation letter to the President on 21.07.2025. He stated that he is resigning due to health reasons. Jagdeep was born on May 18, 1951, in an ordinary farmer’s family from a remote village called Kitana in Rajasthan. He studied his primary education at Chittodgarh Sainik School. He completed his LLB graduation from Rajasthan University, Jaipur. Jagdeep Dhankar won the 9th Lok Sabha elections from Jhunjhunu constituency on behalf of the Janata Dal. He was elected as an MLA from the Kishangarh assembly constituency in 1993. He joined the BJP in 2003. In 2019, the Centre appointed Jagdeep as the Governor of Bengal. Jagdeep Dhankar served as the President of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association. He was a member of the International Court of Arbitration. He also worked in the Supreme Court for some years. Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected Vice President on July 16, 2022.
