
NOB- Jammu and Kashmir news: Election counting has been completed in Jammu and Kashmir. The National Conference alliance has won the most seats in all 90 assembly constituencies. Jammu Kashmir National Conference, Congress, CPM and Jammu Kashmir National Panthers parties together won in 49 constituencies. The Jammu Kashmir National Conference won the most seats in the alliance. 42 Jammu Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) party candidates won. Six of those who entered the fray from the Congress party won. One CPM candidate won. BJP candidates won in 29 constituencies. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bagged 3 seats. While six independent party candidates won, two others won from each party. The National Conference alliance won enough seats to form the government. With this, Omar Abdullah Bane was announced as the chief ministerial candidate of the alliance. Polling for the 90 constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir was held in three phases on September 18, 25 and October 1st 2024. Elections were held there for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370. 63.88 percent voters participated in this. The state is divided into Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Counting of votes started at 8 am on October 8th 2024 with heavy security arrangements.
