Kejriwal’s daily routine in Tihar jail

NOB- Delhi news: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal has been remanded in judicial custody for 15 days by a court in a money laundering case related to liquor policy. He will remain in Tihar Jail for two weeks. He was taken to jail on 01.04.2024 evening amid heavy security. The officials revealed that the second room has been allotted to the CM. Former Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia, who has already been arrested in this case, is currently in room number one of Tihar jail. Further, AAP MP Sanjay Singh was allotted room number five. Another AAP leader Satyender Jain is in cell number seven.

Like other prisoners, Kejriwal’s daily routine starts at 6.30 am. Tea and some slices of bread will be given as part of morning breakfast. If there is a court hearing after completion of the timelines, it will be taken. Otherwise the CM is allowed to meet with his legal team.

Lunch will be served between 10.30 am and 11 am. Lentils, curry, rice and five loaves of bread are given as food. The CM should stay in his room from 12 noon to 3 pm. At 3.30 pm a cup of tea and two biscuits are given. He can meet his lawyers again at 4 pm. Dinner will be served at 5.30 pm. They will be sent to the cell again around 7 pm. Kejriwal has the facility to watch TV. Allowed to watch 18 to 20 channels. Medical staff available 24/7. As he is suffering from diabetes, he will undergo regular checkups. His lawyers requested that he be given a special diet for health reasons. Also, Kejriwal can talk to his family members twice a week. Kejriwal requested the court to allow him books like Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita and ‘How Prime Ministers Decide’ in jail. Table, chair and medicines were also requested to be allowed. It is not clear whether the court agreed to this or not.
