NOB-Visakhapatnam news: A major fire accident has occurred at the Vizag Steel Plant. A fire raging in the SMS-2 Mission. Fire crews who reached the accident site tried to control the fire. As the fire raged heavily, thick smoke billowed in the vicinity of the steel plant.  A major accident was averted at the steel plant four days ago. On 18.05.2025, about 300 trucks of liquid steel were spilled on the ground in Blast Furnace-2. While arrangements were being made to fill the liquid steel from the furnace into a Turbo Ladle Car (TLC) and move it to SMS, a hole was made in the TLC and the liquid steel fell down. The fire broke out and the cables and the track were damaged. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as there was no loss of life. There is widespread concern as another fire breaks out in four days.
