The cases of Monkey pox in India are increasing and reached to 10 now. The latest reported case was at New Delhi which made New Delhi alone reporting 5 cases among the 10 cases reported in India. Since this viral disease is having similarities with small pox, some firms are thinking of developing vaccines and detection kits. Till now 8 pharma firms have approached ICMR for developing vaccines for Monkey pox and 23 organizations gave bids to ICMR for developing of detection kits. Hopefully in near future a reliable detection kit and vaccine will be developed in India for Monkey pox virus. And WHO has declared that the spread of virus is there but in a very slow pace so there is no need to panic that it may be next pandemic.
