NOB- Siddipet news: The son-in-law planned the movie Drishyam 2 to get rid of the loss by killing his mother-in-law because he had suffered a loss in business. He took out insurance policies, registered the land in the name of his mother-in-law, and gave a buildup at the level of his son, and eventually became a tyrant.  On the 07.07.2025, a road accident occurred at Pedda Masan Palli in Thoguta mandal of Siddipet district. An unidentified vehicle hit a woman named Ramamma and she died on the spot. Ramamma’s son-in-law Venkatesh dialed 100 and reported the matter. After receiving the information, the police thought it was a normal road accident. However, when an unidentified vehicle hit her, the police checked the CCTV cameras in the vicinity and found a Mahendra Thar vehicle in it. However, they suspected that the vehicle might have hit the woman. The Thoguta police started an investigation based on the TS 18 G 2277 number. It turned out that the vehicle was taken by Venkatesh’s brother Karunakar in Siddipet. In this process, the police became suspicious of Ramamma’s son-in-law. The Thoguta police summoned Venkatesh to the police station. The police asked Venkatesh twice if he had any suspicions about the incident, and he said that there was nothing like that. However, when the police asked who Karunakar was, Venkatesh’s words faltered. When the police interrogated him in their own style, the son-in-law Venkatesh revealed the real truth. He confessed that he had his mother-in-law Ramamma murdered. He said that he did all this for the insurance money. Immediately, the police arrested his brother Karunakar and obtained full information. In March 2025 year, Venkatesh lost up to Rs. 22 lakh in poultry farm business and agriculture. He also lent Rs 1.30 lakh to Karunakar. Since then, he has been facing financial difficulties due to losses in the business. Venkatesh wanted to get out of the loss he incurred in the business. He planned to murder his disabled mother-in-law and make it look like a normal death to collect the insurance money. He took out SBI life insurance and post office insurance policies up to Rs. 60 lakh in the name of his mother-in-law Ramamma. Also, Venkatesh, the son-in-law, got the land in his name registered in his mother-in-law’s name, saying that if she died, he would get another Rs. 5 lakh in farmer’s insurance. One day, he called his brother Karunakar and asked him to give him the loan he had to give Karunakar asked for some time. Venkatesh made an offer to Karunakar that if he killed his mother-in-law, he would not have to pay him the money he owed and that they would both share half of his mother-in-law’s insurance money. Karunakar agreed to the offer. They immediately planned the murder. On the 07.07.2025, son-in-law Venkatesh went to his mother-in-law Ramamma and told her that electricity officials were coming to the well. He stopped her on the road on the outskirts of Masanpalli on a TVS Excel. He told her to stay on the road and see if the officials had arrived, and Ramamma said okay. Venkatesh called Karunakar after he had gone a little distance. Karunakar came at a high speed on a Thar vehicle, hit Ramamma, killed her and left from there. After a while, Venkatesh came to the scene of the incident and made to believe that his mother-in-law  was hit by an unknown vehicle and was killed. But in the end, the son-in-law’s mistake was revealed during the police investigation. During the investigation, two accused confessed to the murder after watching the movie Drishyam 2. The police were shocked by the intelligence of the son-in-law. Siddipet CP Anuradha congratulated the Thoguta police for solving the case based on technology. In short, the son-in-law’s plan to murder his mother-in-law and make it look like a normal death to collect insurance money was foiled. CCTV cameras played a key role in solving this case.
