NOB-Hyderabad news: Dowry harassment is increasing day by day. Time is moving forward at a hundred speed, but this practice is not changing. Mother-in-law harassment and husband’s anarchy are not decreasing. As part of this, a newlywed has recently committed suicide. Sharath and Devika got married in August 2024 with the consent of both family members. While Devika, who has completed her MBA, is working in a private job, Sharath is studying at IIT Kharagpur and is working in a software job. Both of their lives were very smooth at first, but then Sharath started changing. Thus, for the past few days, there have been mutual fights between Sharath and Devika. Due to this, Devika, who was upset, committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan on 03.03.2025 morning. However, family members are expressing doubts about Devika’s death. Devika’s mother alleges that Sharath used to harass their daughter Devika for dowry. Devika’s family members said that she committed suicide after being harassed for additional dowry despite being given a dowry of Rs. 5 lakh and 15 tolas of gold. The police, who reached the spot, registered a case at Rayadurgam police station based on the complaint of the family members and shifted the body to Osmania Mortuary.
