
NOB-New Delhi: Justice Sujaypal and Justice Mausami Bhattacharya have been appointed as judges of the Telangana High Court. The Ministry of Justice issued the relevant orders on 18.03.2024 after President Draupadi Murmu approved the recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium on February 13th 2024 to transfer Judges those currently serving in the Madhya Pradesh and Calcutta High Courts to Telangana. Following the powers under Article 222(1) of the Constitution, President Draupadi Murmu has transferred these two judges to the Telangana High Court after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, Justice Chandrachud. The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Justice Sujaypal to any other High Court in view of the fact that his son is practicing as an advocate in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and Justice Mousami Bhattacharya to transfer her from the Calcutta High Court for personal reasons.
